Real Fishing Life Experience with a Local Fisherman
(Fish Farm to Dish Experience)
Experience the Coastal Life of Minami-Ise with a Local Fisherman

Step onto a fishing boat, head out to sea, interact with the fish, and finally enjoy the life they provide.
This is not just sightseeing—it's an immersive experience into the lives of people who live in harmony with the ocean.
Guided by local fisherman Jun Hashimoto, you will board a fishing boat and visit offshore fish farms and fishing areas.
After experiencing fish feeding and observing real fishing operations,
you will enjoy a "Farm to Dish" experience, tasting fish raised by the fisherman himself.
This experience takes place in Asoura, a small fishing village in Minami-Ise.
Once home to around 2,000 residents, the population has now declined to about 800,
with many residents over the age of 65.
Despite these challenges, the bay has long been known for its fishing industry,
and families continue to maintain fish farms and live in close connection with the sea.
Your guide, Jun Hashimoto, is a sea bream farmer who has traveled extensively around the world,
including the United States, Europe, and Africa.
Through his experiences abroad, he came to realize the true value of the slow, nature-connected lifestyle of his hometown.
He returned to Minami-Ise, where he now works as both a fisherman and guesthouse owner.
The elevated structure of the village houses reflects the impact of the Ise Bay Typhoon about 70 years ago.
After severe flooding, protective walls were built and homes were raised,
showing how the community has adapted to live alongside nature.
This experience offers a rare opportunity to connect with that authentic lifestyle and way of thinking.
