Guided by local fisherman Jun Hashimoto, you will board a fishing boat and
retrieve a pre-set tsubo net (a small-scale set net).
You may catch not only fish, but also squid, shrimp, and other marine life.
Jun will explain the different species caught on the day.
This program offers a rare chance to experience real fishing shaped by natural conditions.
This experience takes place in Asoura, Minami-Ise,
a coastal village where life has long been deeply connected to the sea.
Set net fishing (tsubo net) is a traditional method that relies on understanding fish migration
and working with natural ocean currents.
The outcome changes every day, depending on the conditions of the sea.
Your guide, Jun Hashimoto, has traveled extensively around the world
before returning to his hometown to continue fishing and run a guesthouse.
Through this experience, you will gain insight into the lifestyle of fishermen
and their close relationship with nature.
